Late last night it was announced on our local T.V. that the Israeli authority would lift the curfew from 5:00 a. m. to an unknown date. We all got up and our children got ready to go to school. At 7:20 a. m. this morning however they re-imposed the curfew again. We have no idea why.

Late last night it was announced on our local T.V. that the Israeli authority would lift the curfew from 5:00 a. m. to an unknown date.  We all got up and our children got ready to go to school. At 7:20 a. m. this morning however they re-imposed the curfew again. We have no idea why.

It is sad how confused our children are becoming; one minute curfew is lifted the second it is not. What sort of life is this we endure? The Israeli authority is playing games with us and anyone who believes that the re-occupation and invasions of Palestinian areas is for ‘security’ is very much mistaken.  There is no change in our situation. Days pass by from our lives and the routine we are forced to live under is causing such frustration amongst us. This confusion and anger is creating a new generation that will only hate the name Israel.

My daughter Salam cried so much, not understanding why the Israeli authority canceled the lift of the curfew and changed their minds.  She was so happy, looking forward to getting out of the house to go to school after days imprisoned under curfew.

If it were up to me, I say we should all go out in the streets and break the curfew, but all of us are afraid to take this step. For how long are we going to be living in cages? How much longer will the days of our lives and the lives of our children be wasted like this? We do not need your humanitarian aid, we need your help in getting us out of this bloody cycle which only breeds violence. It is time to take a step forward, to interfere and bring change to this situation. Negotiations must restart. Palestinians are humans who want peace and justice; we have suffered enough. Let our children have the chance to live their lives in peace and freedom like other children of the world.

I will continue to appeal to you all, to please hear my desperate cry for help. Pressure your governments to do something to help us.  Life is not just eating and sleeping, there is more to life. God created all humans equal with no distinction so please take immediate action to create a stronger lobby to bring justice to all innocent humans living in the region. Those who create wind must expect hurricanes.
