Three women from Israel and Palestine will discuss their vision for building a bridge for peace and reconciliation in their homeland. The women have come to this vision from three radically different life experiences. Their stories are compelling. They will speak at this Ninth International Conference on October 26-27, 2007. The conference theme is “Walking the Path of Peace”

“These are three women – Israeli Jewish, Palestinian Christian and Palestinian Muslim, – strangers to each other, share their stories as mothers, wives and sisters about the realty of the conflict: the loss of family members and homes, the degradation of the occupation and the horrors of violence. Their willingness to share these very deeply felt personal experiences is proof of itself that peace is possible if there is goodwill, courage and commitment” commented Rateb Rabie, HCEF President.

These women are witnesses to the fact that understanding and reconciliation are possible if walls of separation—both physical and psychological—are removed and forums for honest, free dialogue are encouraged.

“Partners for Peace” cosponsors with the HCEF Ninth International Conference of this panel has sought to inform the American public about critical issues in the Holy Land and positive steps that can be taken to secure peace and justice among Israelis and Palestinians.

Jerusalem Women Speak: Three Women, Three Faiths, One shared Vision Speaking Tour is one of the “Partners for Peace” projects. It highlights efforts by Palestinians, Israelis, and citizens of other nations, who reject violence in their quest to end the occupation of Palestinian territories.
