The Secretariat General of the Ecumenical Committee for Christian Education in Palestine decided to apply the Kairos – Palestine document in both the 9th and 10th grades, during its meeting held at the Dar El Kalimah School in Bethlehem.

This document that was issued about one and a half years ago in Bethlehem, is the Palestinian Christians word to the world about the injustice and persecution caused by the Israeli Occupation, prepared by a group of Christian religious, theological and lay notables from all the different Churches.

Preparation of the Kairos-Palestine document, “A word of faith, hope and love from the heart of the Palestinian suffering”, which in Classic Greek means “this moment”, extended over almost two years. It is intended to convey in its context that time has come to work for a just peace and bring an end to the Israeli occupation that is at the root of the suffering of the peoples in the region.

The Kairos Palestine document, in content is similar to that famous document of Kairos-South Africa that was published in 1995, which formed an important turning point in the struggle against the “Apartheid” regime there, its seclusion and downfall within a few years from its publication.
