CHICAGO, IL – The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) will be represented by its President and CEO, Sir Rateb Rabie, KCHS, at the Islamic Society of America’s (ISNA) 52nd Annual Convention at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago over Labor Day weekend – September 4 – 7, 2015.

ISNA, which serves Muslims of North America and takes part in humanitarian causes throughout the world, holds its Convention annually and is recognized as the largest gathering of Muslims in North America. The Convention will run four days with a variety of programming and activities implemented under this year’s theme – Stories of Resilience: Strengthening the American Muslim Narrative.

Sir Rateb, who is also the Chairman of the Muslim Christian Coalition (MCC), will be speaking at ISNA’s Convention on the historical and ongoing relationship between Muslims and Christians, and how Muslims today are vital for the protection of Christians and other religious minorities under threat in the Arab world. “It is my goal to make it clear that Muslims and Christians have long been allies in their respective countries. They have lived, worked and broken bread together in mutual respect and understanding. This relationship between the two faiths still stands strong, despite what the media may portray. Today, our Muslim brothers and sisters are our strongest support throughout the Middle East, and I am calling attention to this good will, to the continued efforts that Muslims will make on behalf of Christians who suffer all over the world,” said Sir Rateb regarding his trip to Chicago.

In addition to the Convention, Sir Rateb will also be meeting with Alumni of HCEF’s Know Thy Heritage (KTH) Program and other organizations to promote HCEF and bring people together to bring aid where it’s needed in the Holy Land.

Sir Rateb will  be meeting with KTH Alumni and others on Thursday, September 3, at 7pm at Manara Restaurant:

8310 S Harlem Ave
Bridgeview, IL 60455
