On December 20, 2015, the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) reached out to the children of needy families in Zababdeh Palestine in cooperation with the local city council. This event was one of many part of HCEF’s “Bethlehem Heart of Christmas” program which seeks to bring joy to children during the Christmas season while building bonds of solidarity between Christians in Palestine and others throughout the world. Altogether, over 150 gifts were presented to the Children of Zababdeh.

Not only did this gift-giving event bring joy to the city, but it also strengthened bonds between them and the Palestinian Christian Community as a whole. Due to occupation, many communities are isolated from one another, but initiatives like this one enable Christians to come together, especially for Christmas! Among the gifts distributed were toys as well as essential items such as medical kits and blankets.

The families and their children were very grateful for the presents, and even more for the gesture which showed them that they were remembered. They truly felt themselves to be part of a community. HCEF hopes that this serves as a model for the international Christian community to stand with their Palestinian brothers and sisters to preserve Christianity in the land where it all began.

Please help us continue to give back to Palestinian Christian families. Help us restore their dignity and give them the ultimate gift of hope.
