At this dramatic time in the calendar of the Christian Church year-Holy Week- the hearts of all believers turn towards our Lord’s last days on earth nearly 2000 years ago in Jerusalem.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

At this dramatic time in the calendar of the Christian Church year-Holy Week- the hearts of all believers turn towards our Lord’s last days on earth nearly 2000 years ago in Jerusalem.  On Palm Sunday, He followed the path from Bethpage into the city of Jerusalem.  The Gospels tell us how He spent the following several days in and around the Jewish Temple before He and His disciples partook together of the Last Supper. Then came the incredible events of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

As we ponder these earth-shaking events, those of us with the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation(HCEF) remember especially our Christian brothers and sisters living in the Holy Lands today. Once again, we can feel the pain and suffering which they are enduring daily in the midst of  violence and bloodshed. These are surely days of “wars and rumors of wars.”Our Easter prayers are that justice will flow down like a river and that  peace may at last prevail between Palestinians and Israelis.

As our Lord has promised, pain and suffering are never the end of the story.  The horror of Good Friday is always followed by the glory of Easter.  All Christians around the world live in that hope. We, at HCEF send our warmest love and greetings to all of our family around the world and, in particular, to those living in the Holy Lands. May the Lord Himself  give you and your loved ones the gift of His consolation at this Easter season.

We take this opportunity to remind all of our friends that HCEF has sent out an Easter appeal to help our Palestinian Christian brothers and sisters.  Those of you who are led to respond to this appeal may contribute by sending your gift to
