HCEF News Release

We at the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) extend our profound condolences to the families who are grieving today for the innocent victims killed in the terrorist attacks that targeted Amman, Jordan on Wednesday. We are praying for a speedy recovery for all those who were injured.

Fifty-nine people have died and over a hundred were injured in the attacks that took place in three hotels in Amman. Some are in critical condition. These victims were not only innocent citizens of Jordan, but over a dozen were from abroad.  Many were together attending a wedding, which is supposed to be a joyous occasion. It only turned into a tragedy.

Our solidarity with the country of Jordan and its people has many dimensions. As an organization that serves the Christians in the Holy Land, which includes Jordan, Palestine, and Israel, we condemn these cowardly terrorist acts. Jordan is among the first Arab countries to speak out against suicide bombings those who use terror as a means to achieve their goals. These crimes only are an obstacle to the peace process in the region. HCEF would like those responsible for this heinous crime to swiftly be brought to justice.

We continue to pray for God.s blessing on the people of Jordan and to bring peace to the region.
