The Lutheran World Federation has urged the militant Islamic group Hamas which won a sweeping victory in Palestinian parliamentary elections to commit itself to dialogue and to promoting peace efforts with Israel.

said LWF general secretary the Rev. Ishmael Noko in a statement.
