The service is expected to attract tens of thousands of worshippers. The official announcement of the pope’s trip and its itinerary has not yet been made. Vatican officials were deciding between Nazareth and the port city Haifa, which also wanted to host the event. The venue, Precipice Mountain, is the same location where Pope John Paul II celebrated mass during his trip to Israel in 2000.
