Meeting at the Maronite Catholic Church’s headquarters to reflect on Pope Benedict’s recent apostolic journey, Lebanon’s Christian and Muslim leaders joined in denouncing the YouTube video critical of Muhammad and condemned the violence that has been part of protests against the video.
“An attack against any confession is an attack on all religions,” the leaders said in a joint statement, as they condemned attacks that “made innocent victims and that in some countries struck the Christians and their places of worship.”
