HCEF President Discusses MARANATHA, MEDJUGORJE and the HOLY LAND

Monday, January 14, 2013 from 2:00 EST till 3:00 pm EST, Kathie Duggan, host of Sacred Treasures – Radio Maria US (Website URL: https://radiomaria.us/ ) will interview Sir Rateb Rabie, KCHS, President and CEO of the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation!

As a Palestinian Christian, Sir Rateb will share insights from his deep roots in the Holy Land, connecting the importance of visiting the Holy Sites and Medjugorje.

Sir Rateb is the child of Palestinian parents who were forced in 1948 to flee Jerusalem to Jordan, where he was born. As a young man he undertook an ambitious career in international business, where he was quite successful, but his Christian faith and Palestinian heritage remained always central to his life and world-view. He left the for-profit sector to establish HCEF in 1998, and has since devoted his life to ameliorating the living conditions for Holy Land Christians and to establishing avenues to promote peace.

"Even though I think a lot of people in the Holy Land are familiar with the events at Medjugorje, many are not and I believe we can do something to change that," said Sir Rabie. "Medjugorje not only attracts messengers of peace, but it has many other links to the Holy Land and through our HCEF Living Stones Pilgrimage and HCEF's ecumenical prayer movement, MARANATHA! we will focus on the many messages of Medjugorje that emphasize peace as a community-led mission. Additionally, the pilgrimages and the ecumenical prayer for peace are robust catalysts for promoting peace between Jews, Muslims, and Christians. As Christians, we should establish ourselves as a bridge on which peace will be built."
