New Pontifical Mission National Director for the Holy Land

altJERUSALEM – Fr. Michael Abdo Abdo, OCD, was appointed Pontifical Mission National Director for the Holy Land by decree of His Eminence Fernando Cardinal Filoni (Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples), issued April 28, 2013.  Below is the message of best wishes from the ACOHL.

Dear Father Abdo,

Having seen the decree of appointment signed by His Eminence Fernando Cardinal Filoni on April 28, the Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land rejoice with you on your appointment as National Director of the Pontifical Mission for the Holy Land (Jerusalem, Cyprus, Jordan, Israel, Palestine).

Hailing from the mountains of Lebanon and the country of the Cedars, we ask you to help our priests and faithful broaden their horizons on the catholicity of the Church and strengthen their sense of forming one body with the Churches who have little or no support.

Now, I request you to contact Father Arturo Vasaturo, OFM, the outgoing National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies for the handing over of responsibilities.

Thank you, Father, for your availability and best wishes in your future work.
