What alumni said about their experience:

"The KTH Program was an excellently conceived balance of cultural, academic, touristic, networking, and friendship making… an introduction to Palestine, its culture, and people. I'm now considering living and working in Palestine in the future, something that feels a lot more possible and desirable now than it did before I went…. I hadn't ever met a Christian Palestinian and I really enjoyed seeing the Christian holy sites and how those different religions live in harmony. I never imagined that there would be these growing businesses under occupation and was really impressed with the vision of the owners and employees and of the whole concept of 'building the nation of Palestine' despite the occupation."
-Haifa Rashed, England (KTH 2012)

"Now I feel like I have a home here… I don't want Palestine to die out. I love Palestine and I want it to be in my family and in the world forever and if there's anything I can do for that, I'm going to do it. I will, and I hope the other delegates will as well. I am very happy I came on this journey."
–Bayan Atari, Virginia (KTH 2013)

"After this trip, I feel that I'm alive for a reason. My life has changed, I now have answers to questions that I've been holding onto, like of my heritage, my family, where I came from. I didn't know where I came from, and now I do. I feel so proud and so happy for this opportunity."
–Karen Tumani Daccarett, Chile (KTH 2013)

"Before I came here, I met a Palestinian in Germany. He told me that I had no right to Palestine…But coming here has shown me that my people, my brothers and sisters, are accepting. Palestinians are all one, no matter where we're from, where we live, and what our circumstances are."

–Aya Taftaf, Canada (KTH 2013)

"I was raised in the South in the United States, so especially after September 11th, I was told to lie about my heritage and so that's what I did. But being here has been really transformative. I'm so grateful to KTH and HCEF, and mostly I'm just grateful to be Palestinian and now, I'm not afraid to say it."

–Noelle Harb, Tennessee (KTH 2013)

"The peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians; I didn't really know there were Palestinian Christians, but I see now that there is no difference here between Christians and Muslims. All are Palestinians."

 -Lina Barkawi, Virginia (KTH 2011)

"I don't even want to go home right now. I feel so instantly comfortable here. I am home."

 -Jessica Rayyan, Arizona (KTH 2011)
