Al Azhar strongly condemned the terrorist blast that targeted innocent people in Mar Girgis Church in Tanta during Palm Sunday Mass.
In a statement on Sunday 9/4/2017, Al Azhar termed the attack as a hideous crime. This cowardly blast aims at destabilizing Egypt, the statement added.
Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb offered condolences to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and patriarch of St. Mark Diocese and to the families of the martyrs and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
