Bishop of Tarbes and Lourdes Monsignor Nicolas Brouwet arrived at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman on Monday, September 17, on a five-day official visit at the invitation of the Jordanian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in cooperation with the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) and Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in Naour.

Bishop Brouwet and the accompanying media delegation were welcomed at the airport by CCSM Director Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader, Fr. Bashir Bader, Director of Pastoral Media at the CCSM Fr. Simon Hijazin, and a number of CCSM members of staff. Later, he proceeded to the Latin Vicariate and was welcomed by Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop William Shomali.

During his historic visit, Bishop of French Lourdes Monsignor Nicolas Brouwet will meet with a number of government officials to discuss the scope of cooperation in the field of religious tourism. He will also meet with a number of heads of Churches in Jordan and preside at public religious celebrations.

On Tuesday, September 18, Bishop Brouwet met with Latin Patriarchate priests during their monthly spiritual retreat. Present at the meeting was Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop William Shomali.He also visited Our Lady of Peace Center, which is affiliated with the Latin Vicariate in Amman, where he was apprised of the free services provided to people with disabilities.
