Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) Authority representatives have met with the head and representatives of tourist offices affiliated with churches and parishes in France. The delegation was accompanied by Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media in Jordan and member of the National Council for Tourism Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader, Director of Religious Tourism in the Jordan Tourism Board Amer Twal, tourism official in France Majd Abu ‘Arqoub, and a representative of the Embassy of Jordan Ms. Samia Anustas.

The meeting included a pictorial presentation which included gratitude to the organizers of pilgrimage trips from France to Jordan in its capacity as a holy country where Lord Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, the first patron of the Church in Jordan. Furthermore, several prophets lived on this land among whom is Abraham, Moses and Elijah (Mar Elias), who was born at Tishbe in Gilead, the Governorate of Ajloun.

At the end of the meeting, held in the French province of La Vendée, Fr. Bader and Mr. Twal met with the Jordanian Ambassador to France and UNESCO Makram Al-Qaisi who was briefed on the extent of pilgrimage to Jordan from various regions and churches in France, and on the scheduled trips that are being prepared for next year.
