COVID-19: Caritas Jordan presents medical supplies to Health Ministry.

On behalf of the Catholic Church in Jordan and in solidarity with the tremendous effort exerted by the Ministry of Health in with regards to Corona crisis, Caritas Jordan has decided to provide 10 medical beds and 10 oxygen generators to the Jordanian Ministry of Health. Caritas Jordan also expressed its intention to provide 200 food parcels to the Ministry of Social Development to contribute to the campaign designed to present food parcels to the most affected individuals at this critical period.

On the other hand, Caritas Jordan continues to provide medical services through coordination with accredited hospitals as needed. Efforts are under way with regards to delivery of medicines to 9,000 patients, in

Caritas Jordan has earlier provided JD10,000 to the Ministry of Health in support of the Jordanian government’s efforts to eliminate the Coronavirus pandemic.

Caritas Jordan Director Wael Suleiman said that Caritas Jordan shoulders its humane, moral and social responsibility towards the emergency health conditions that Jordan is going through. Furthermore, His Majesty King Abdullah had bestowed the Order of Al Istiqlal of the First Degree upon Caritas Jordan, in appreciation of its charity work and community service in the healthcare, education, youth and productive sectors, ongoing for over 50 years, as well as its efforts to provide shelter for refugees.


Caritas Jordan has all the time worked tirelessly to fulfill its love message to the poor and the needy through the good work of groups and individuals by offering medical and humanitarian services. Its message is stipulated in serving and developing humans without distinctions in race, color, gender or religion. It has all the time been conveying invaluable service by assisting the poor and needy, providing primary medical services to mothers and children, assisting refugees and displaced in addition to victims of wars and disasters, working with governmental and voluntary corporations as well as with Caritas International members to achieve the desired goals.

The role played by Caritas Jordan over the past years has been pivotal and vital as it provided all kinds of human services to needy Jordanians as well as to Iraqi and Syrian refugees who lost all hope in life.

What Caritas is doing it is not to be called assistance but right confirming humans’ legitimate rights of living.
