“Let us work together to replace despair with HOPE, fear with human SECURITY and humiliation with DIGNITY”

CCSM posts a video film with guidelines for returning to churches.

The Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan, which is affiliated with the Latin Patriarchate, has posted an awareness film on how believers ought to act when returning to churches, especially next Sunday, June 7. The film explains the precautionary guidelines that must be followed before, during, and after participating in the celebrated Holy Masses.

The film asks believers to follow the precautionary measures, which were included in the statement of the Council of the Heads of Churches in Jordan, such as wearing masks and gloves, sanitizing hands before entering churches, maintaining a safe distance between worshipers, refraining from using books and resorting to cellular applications to follow texts, refraining from gatherings prior and after Holy Masses at the church entrances and halls. The guidelines also called for refraining from jostling while entering and exiting, and urged that in lieu of shaking hands, worshippers may bow while keeping a safe.

The film was shot at the Latin Church of the Annunciation in Jabal Luweibdeh, and prepared by a CCSM and Caritas Jordan employees. It included a hymn by the Fountain of Love Choir.

CCSM Director Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader said that the new video film is in line with the CCSM’s social role which aims at promoting the awareness of the believers as they get ready to return and pray to places of worship. He stressed that with the gradual return to normal life in our beloved kingdom, personal and social responsibilities dictate that everyone must protect the achievements that have been made since the beginning of the pandemic which imply adhering to the directives provided by the relevant authorities prior to the reopening of places of worship and other sectors.

The CCSM director called for ringing the bells and praying wholeheartedly on the first Sunday of the reopening of the churches. He also urged expressing gratitude for all the efforts that are being conducted by government agencies which include the Crisis Management Unit, the Ministry of Health, the Arab Army and the security departments which have acted in harmony under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ben Al-Hussein, so that the homeland would be preserved and protected despite the health and economic challenges that the pandemic caused to the entire humanity.
