MECC implemented a training for 45 teachers and institute directors in Damascus, entitled “child protection”. This training aims to improve the teachers’ capacities to deal with children through a better understanding of their emotions and thoughts depending on their age. In addition to raising awareness of wrong and common behavior with kids.

The three-day training included many issues such as children’s rights and their protection principles, age characteristics of children and teenagers, dealing with trauma related to children, principles of psychological first aid, effective communication and how to build a strong relationship with children, student support strategies, etc.

The participants were able to exchange ideas and benefit from each other’s skills; especially from those who have great experience. In addition, they will be responsible of teaching students in the 9th grade benefiting from the remedial classes organized by MECC.
