The Chairman of the Supreme Presidential Committee for the Follow-up of Churches Affairs in Palestine His Excellency Minister Dr. Ramzi Khoury met with Custodian of the Holy Land Fr. Francesco Patton at Terra Sancta College in Amman, which coincided with their private visits to Jordan.

 During the meeting, the discussion focused on the current situation in the Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip, where they regretted the large number of the victims in the conflict and reviewed the developments in Sheikh Jarrah in addition to the attempts to enact forced displacement of  its residents.

Dr. Khoury underlined the constructive cooperation between the Supreme Presidential Committee for the Follow-up of Churches Affairs in Palestine on the one hand with the Custody of the Holy Land and the Heads of Churches in noble Jerusalem on the other. He also stressed the importance of preserving the Christian Arab identity in Palestine because it is a historical identity that runs in harmony with the Islamic Arab identity. He also praised the efforts exerted by the Custody of the Holy Land, the Latin Patriarchate, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate and all the Churches with regards to launching housing projects for Jerusalemite families, noting that these projects are propitious means to support the Jerusalemites.

In attendance were Director of the Terra Sancta College Fr. Rashid Mustrih; Advisor at  the Custody of the Holy Land Fr. Ibrahim Faltas, Custodian of the Province of Saint Paul for the Franciscans of Syria, Lebanon and Jordan Fr. Firas Lutfi; Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media in Jordan Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader; and  Malik Twal from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
