The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) celebrated Easter with elders representing every Palestinian Christian denomination at the Birzeit Cultural Community Center on Thursday, 4/21/2022. Father Louis Hazboun, Pastor of the Latin Patriarchate parish in Birzeit, began the celebration with prayer and the Eucharist for the elderly. Then he announced the news of the parish, which had been reported in the monthly bulletin issued by the church, and expressed his appreciation to the members of the committee in charge of this event. The news included a review of most of the religious and social activities and events of the previous year for Christians and Muslims at the center.

In the entertainment portion of the program, games were played, such as bingo, rats, and others, followed by everyone’s participation in dyeing eggs. This activity symbolizes resurrection, new life, purity, love, and peace. Then everyone broke bread together, sharing a meal to highlight their friendship. This brotherly relationship has been bringing people together for years. After a sumptuous dessert of sweet cakes and chocolates, the glory of Easter was celebrated by the distribution of gifts.

On this festive occasion, Sir Rateb Rabie, President and CEO of the HCEF, extends warm Easter wishes to all the Christian denominations represented by our people in Palestine and the whole world. May God bring you many blessings of love and peace.
