About 50 heads of the Catholic Spiritual Movement “Communione e Liberazione” from various countries of the Middle East, namely Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Palestine, and Turkey in addition to North Africa, namely Algeria, Egypt, and Tunisia met with some Italian friends on January 27-29, 2023, to pray in the Dead Sea area. The topic of the meeting, which was opened by Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Alexandria Bishop Claudio Lorati, was “Christ is the life of life.”

 

On Saturday January 28, the participants went on a pilgrimage trip to the Baptism Site where they were received by Director General Baptism Site Commission Engineer Rustom Mkjian who presented a briefing on the religious and cultural value of the site. Then, they celebrated Holy Mass at the Latin Church which is expected to be officially inaugurated early next year.

 

On Sunday, January 29, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop  Jamal D’aibes welcomed the visiting delegation and  celebrated Holy Mass during which he delivered a homily marking  the fourth Sunday of the year.
