JORDAN – From February 6th to 7th, 2023, in the Rosary Sisters Visitation Home, the priests of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem met with His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the auxiliary bishops to discuss and plan a brighter future for the Latin Church in the Holy Land.

The return of the annual meeting
Just like all other activities, this highly important meeting for the life of the Latin Church in the Holy Land was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. It came after two years of absence, and was held to discuss the mission of the Latin Church in the Holy Land, and ways to empower it.

The program
Many topics were discussed during these two days, but there were three main subjects at the center of the discussion. One, the spiritual life of the priests of the Latin Patriarchate, which comes from the spirituality of the Good Shepherd. Second, the administrative and financial progress of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem during the past two years, which they reflected upon while discussing the upcoming plans that were agreed on. Third, the mechanism and actions of the schools of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, including the role of the parish priest.

These three points were interspersed with times of prayer, during which the priests asked in unity for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the blessing of God for His Church, to be strengthened by His spirit.

Prayer to the faithful
On this occasion, all the clergy of the Patriarchate asks for the prayer of all the faithful in the Holy Land, in order to walk in the the spirit of truth and wisdom; so that they may be able to better serve the Church and its children.
