Interview Of His Beatitude The Patriarch Of Jerusalem Theophilos Iii on ERT Chanel

On Saturday, 15th/28th June 2025, our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Theophilos III, gave a highly important and interesting interview to the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), regarding the pilgrimage, pastoral, reconciliatory, and peace-making mission of the Patriarchate from its inception and particularly since the days of the “Achtiname” treaty, agreed between the Holy Patriarch of Jerusalem Sophronius (634–638) and Caliph Omar ibn al-Khattab. This treaty ensured a measure of religious freedom for Christians and the preservation of the Holy Places.

His Beatitude referred to the work of the Patriarchate throughout all areas under its ecclesiastical jurisdiction—namely, in Israel, Jordan, the Palestinian Authority, Qatar, and the West Bank—by the grace and blessing of the Risen Christ and the Most Holy and Life-Giving Tomb.
