Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Over the past year, our beloved planet has been rocked by dire and competing global challenges to peace. From natural disasters to human-provoked acts of violence, these challenges have tested the very limits of our compassion. And in the most trying of times, many of us rose to the occasion. We offered solidarity, charity and advocacy to our brothers and sisters all over the world, demonstrating the divine reaches of the human spirit. But, for many of us, these crises have had a dangerous side effect—“compassion fatigue.”

It’s easy to feel hopeless when we consider the difficulties under which our brothers and sisters are living in the Holy Land, with no easy solution on the horizon. Palestinian Christians could easily respond with despair to their uneasy status as the “Forgotten Faithful.” No one would blame them. And yet, most have not. Rather, they remain sustained by the steadfast belief of Emmanuel—that God is with us. 

During this busy season of Christmas, let us give the greatest gift of the season: “Hope.”  Join us in renewing our commitment to serving as agents of hope in our Mother Church;  To remain steadfast in affirming to the Palestinian Christian community that WE DO CARE and, most importantly, that WE WILL NOT ABANDON THEM. We invite you to reinvigorate your compassion by lending your hands to the troubled region where our Lord and Savior was born.
