Dear Friends,

Christmas is approaching us and with it a time of love, joy, peace,
reflection, and caring for our fellow men. It is a time of reaching out in
love to our families, loved ones, friends, neighbors and to the whole world.

At this time, we at Caritas Jerusalem are humbled by the generosity,
solidarity, and caring of all of our friends and partners. You are the ones
who have made possible Caritas Jerusalem’s efforts to ease the sufferings of
the Palestinian people throughout this difficult year. You have held up our
hands. It is you all who have made our work possible. The sick child who
received medical care, the hungry who were fed, the children and needy
people who were clothed, the young man or woman who was able to continue his
or her education, the needy individual who received life saving medicine,
the family who was able to remain in their home, the unemployed worker who
was able to receive a paycheck for a days work, the drug addict who was
helped to leave the hopeless world of drug addiction, the small business
person who received a much needed loan, the elderly person who received a
hot meal or who was visited in their home: all of this was made possible
through the generosity and caring of our partners.

It is the profound hope of Caritas Jerusalem that 2005 will be the year of
faith, hope and love. We believe that peace is possible in the Holy Land. We
hope for a better life for all who live in the Holy Land: Jews, Moslems,
Druze, Samaritans and Christians. We pray that the spirit of love will enter
the hearts of all in the Holy Land and that we will fulfill God’s wish that
we love one another.

To all our families, loved ones, our friends, our partners, our volunteers
and those anonymous souls who wished to be a part of our work in deed but
not in name and the many people in need, Caritas Jerusalem wishes you a year
of peace, happiness, and blessings.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Yours Sincerely,

Claudette Habesch
