Those of you who had the chance to visit the Palestinian cities and refugee camps, did you not see the pit of desperation that we are falling into?

Arafat can arrest all Palestinians that are so called “wanted” by the Israeli government, but we know that Sharon has no intention of sitting at the same table with Arafat to proceed with peace talks. We know in our hearts that Sharon does not want to give the Palestinians the right to have their own state called Palestine.
Sharon has broken every agreement that was reached, such as Oslo 1 and 2, yet he blames Arafat at every turn. What right do the Israeli military tanks, apaches, and bulldozers have to invade areas A, supposedly Palestinian National Authority controlled areas under Oslo 1 and 2? What right do the Israelis have to destroy our property and our land and to kill our people?
We do not feel secure in our own homes, so the only solution is maybe to emigrate like so many have already done. Our homes can then more easily be taken over by Israeli soldiers as a location from which to shoot their targets.
We in Beit Sahour fear night after night the return of Israeli helicopters. We can hear them buzzing in the sky. Each time we hear a loud noise, we think it is the Israeli tanks coming back into our town.
We need your immediate support. Sharon has gone way beyond belief with his inhuman acts against our people throughout the Occupied Territories. His excuse is he will “bite” when necessary, but all that he bites he poisons to death.
We are terrified for our childrens’ future. What is left for them in their childhood to remember except terror and fear? We implore the world to stand up for the human rights of Palestinians now more than ever. How much more of this Israeli terror can we bear? Our patience is running out, as is the hope that the international community will stand up to Sharon and tell him to stop, stop, stop, and to force both sides to sit back at the negotiation table to proceed with peace process.
The Palestinians want peace, despite the ugly propaganda of the Israeli government and media to the contrary. We do not want war, but with these acts Sharon is pulling us further and further into bloody conflict. We reiterate our plea to the international community to help us and intervene, before it is too late.
