It is the first time Israelis are being invited to any event under official Saudi auspices. At a previous interfaith meeting in Spain, the king allowed rabbis to attend, but there was no acknowledgement of Israel. The event is scheduled to be held on November 12. Israeli media reports indicate President Shimon Peres and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni might attend.
