The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) announced today the web publication of “The Christians of the Middle East: A Select Bibliography” compiled by Monmouth University Professor Saliba Sarsar, who is Secretary of the HCEF Board, and Alexander Keller, a political science student, who currently studies at Yale University.
The bibliography, containing more than 300 references of books, articles, internet sources and organizations, focuses on the varied Christian sects and their locations around the Middle East, as presented in a summary table. HCEF President/CEO Rateb Y. Rabie commended Sarsar and Keller on their invaluable work “as it raises awareness and understanding of Christians of the Middle East.”
He explained that the Christians of the Middle East are “a people with a deep history dating to the time of Jesus Christ.” He encouraged Christians everywhere and others to access the bibliography and read about the trials and tribulations of Christians where the prophets and Jesus and his disciples walked and preached. He urged scholars to pursue research and writing about Middle East Christians, thus illuminating “their status, needs, and aspirations.”
