In announcing the honorees, HCEF President Rateb Rabie stated “I continue to be inspired and impressed by how Sr. Anne Guinan and Sr. Caritas Kennedy have so faithfully committed themselves to the service of others using their skills and talents to bring greater awareness to American Christian audiences of the conditions under which the Christians of the Holy Land are subjected to live.”

Since 1999, Sr. Anne Guinan and Sr. Caritas Kennedy have generously provided their multi-media expertise to HCEF. At every key HCEF venue they are present, video taping the proceedings. Under their skillful editing, these videos have become an indispensable resource for HCEF in its educational outreach to U.S. Christians regarding the Christian communities of the Holy Land.

The HCEF President’s Award is the highest award given annually to honor individuals who have demonstrated their solidarity with the Christians of the Holy Land through acts of love and support on their behalf.

Sr. Anne Guinan, MHSH is the founding director of Mission Helper Productions, Inc. This full service, digital video production facility of her order, the Mission Helpers of the Sacred Heart, is dedicated to the vision of a just and peaceful society. Sr. Anne has spent 25 years in Catholic parishes and institutions as an educator training catechists. Later she served as director of religious education of the Diocese of Wilmington. She holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a M.Ed. from Duquesne University. She has done postgraduate work at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, Temple University, University of Detroit and Fordham University.

Sr. Caritas Kennedy, RSM is the associate director of Mission Helper Productions, Inc. Previously she was associate director for adult catechesis in the Archdiocese of Newark. She is an experienced educator having taught in colleges, secondary and elementary schools. She holds a B.A. from College Misericordia of Dallas, PA and a M.A. in Theology from LaSalle College in Philadelphia. She also trained at the Institute of Religious Communications of the University of San Diego and the American Baptist National Center, Valley Forge, PA. She has pursued postgraduate studies in archeology and psychology.

Through Mission Helper Productions, Sr. Anne and Sr. Caritas have produced video productions and documentaries for a variety of organizations. Their five-part video Bible study course entitled Come Journey with Me is highly acclaimed.It builds on their extensive travels in Palestine, Israel and Egypt. During these trips they recorded numerous interviews with both the clergy of all faiths as well as with people on the street. Their most recent production Just to Live in Peace: Christians of the Holy Land isa compelling documentaryaimed at raising the awareness of American Christians to the challenges faced by their brothers and sisters in faith in the Holy Land.

With their genuine friendship and steadfast support, Sisters Anne and Caritas have been a tremendous blessing to HCEF, and through their many acts of love and support, demonstrated their unwavering solidarity with the Christians of the Holy Land.

The HCEF President’s Award will be presented at the Awards Banquet of the 12th International Conference on the Holy Land on Friday evening, November 5, 2010 being held at the Bethesda Marriott Hotel, Bethesda, MD.
