In a press conference held in Ramallah, on Monday, May 19, 2014, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal announced that preparations to receive the Pope were all but completed in Amman, Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
The press conference was called by the Presidential Higher Commission which was formed by Palestine in order to prepare for the arrival of the Pope.
Speakers at the press conference were: Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal, head of the Presidential Commission for Christian Affairs, Hanna Ameerah, member of the Church’s Media Commission, Father Jamal Khader, Palestine’s Ambassador to the Holy See Issa Kassissieh and Presidential Advisor Zayyad Bandak.
