SCOPE OF WORK:

The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) is seeking a Communications & Outreach Intern to support its public relations initiatives. The intern will serve an important role at HCEF, making a meaningful contribution to the Organization’s public image and offering an exciting opportunity to apply her/his public relations and communications skills in a dynamic environment.  Responsibilities will include developing and coordinating public events, composing and editing promotional materials, writing press releases and program reports, supporting social media outreach, and conducting research and data analysis related to programs. As Communications & Outreach Intern you will be a full team member, working closely with office staff in either Bethlehem, Palestine OR Bethesda, Maryland. Office hours are from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Additional hours will be required for special activities and events.

At HCEF, the intern will have a unique opportunity to strengthen his/her knowledge of Palestine’s history, culture, economic environment, and political landscape while extending their networks and honing public relations skills. Internships are a minimum of two months in duration, with the possibility of extension. Start/end dates are flexible. A modest living stipend will be provided.

The Communications and Outreach Intern must: speak fluent English; be proficient in MS Office and key social media platforms; have experience in written communications for promotion/advocacy; have a strong interest in Palestine; and be dedicated to HCEF’s mission. Arabic language skills are a plus, but not required.
