Apostolic Administrator sede vacante of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem Fr. Pierbattista Pizzaballa visited Caritas Jordan’s main offices on Saturday, July 23. He was accompanied by Latin Patriarchal Vicar of Jordan Archbishop Maroun Lahham and Head of Board of Directors Jubran Salameh.
During the visit, he met with Director General of Caritas Jordan Wael Suleiman who presented a briefing about Caritas Jordan’s activities and humanitarian services offered to vulnerable Jordanians as well as to the forcibly displaced and the refugees. Fr. Pizzaballa expressed admiration of the Caritas Jordan’s services, and expressed his willingness to pay another visit in the near future so as to get acquainted with the activities of other Caritas-affiliated centers.
Fr. Pizzaballa also met with a group of Caritas Jordan administrative staff, and was briefed on the programmes and projects being implemented. He also watched the 2015 Caritas Jordan documentary that reflects its achievements.
Fr. Pizzaballa had earlier paid a visit to the Restaurant of Mercy, accompanied by Bishop Maroun Lahham, where he met with the staff and some volunteers. He was also apprised of the work conducted at the restaurant which offers free daily meals to needy people.
