On January 8, 2017, Dr. Hugh Dempsey, KMOb was given the Archdiocese of Washington’s “Manifesting the Kingdom Award”. The award, presented by His Eminence Cardinal Donald Wuerl during the celebration of Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, recognizes Dempsey for his strong dedication and leading role in the Catholic community. Dempsey has served as the Pastoral Council Chairman of the Annunciation Church, as a member of the Board of Advisors of the Annunciation School, and as a member of the Board of Overseers and Development Committee Chair of the Dominican House of Studies. He has been a longtime volunteer and Board member of the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation, as well as Chairman of the Board and co-founder of Palestine’s “Bethlehem Museum”.
