AMMAN — The General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Monday dispatched the first Christian military pilgrimage convoy to Palestine to visit the Christian holy sites, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The convoy, which includes 24 officers and non-commissioned officer with their families, will visit the Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth, according to the head of the convoy, Director of the Royal Supply Corps, Brig. Gen. Imad Haddad.
“We thank our JAF, represented by the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, for this gesture of kindness and humanity that coincides with the start of the Muslims’ pilgrimage to their holy places — Makkah Al Mukarramah- thus achieving global harmony between religions, as called for by the supreme commander of JAF, His Majesty King Abdullah,” Haddad said.
