The heads of the Churches in Jordan have followed the issue relevant to a posting that insulted an image depicting the Last Supper. This posting is strongly rejected since this image has a holy status in the Church and for all Christians. The Council of the Heads of the Churches in Jordan considers such action as violating the norms, being disrespectful, and not acceptable by any honest Jordanian.
The Council urges all citizens to use the media networking outlets in order to spread the values of brotherhood, love and good citizenship, rather than a discourse of exclusion and hatred that provokes sedition.
On these days, as we mark glorious Christmas celebrations, the Council hopes that all the children of the homeland would resort to wisdom, tolerance and compassion with regards to this issue so that an atmosphere of understanding, love and brotherhood would continue to prevail as has always been the case. The Council also hopes that this tolerance would be in compliance with the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ and the noble messengers in Jordan’s holy land which is being viewed by the entire world as a pan-Arab Hashemite Arab state that sponsors moderation.
The Council conveys greeting s of love and appreciation to the leader of this country, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ben Al-Hussein, who has always been setting models of dignity, pride and tolerance, and wishes all the people of Jordan happy holidays and a blessed new year.
In conclusion, the Council hopes that the competent Jordanian media outlets would consolidate whatever serves the interest of the homeland and the unity of its children. It also affirms its confidence in the fair and independent judiciary system in Jordan and calls on the God to overwhelm the entire children of Jordan with goodness.
May Jordanians have propitious days ahead.
