Pope Francis’ Greetings to the Arabic-Speaking Pilgrims at the General Audience.
Addressing Christians of the Middle East on February 6, 2019, during the General Audience over which Pope Francis presided in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall, he encouraged them to make the seed of fraternity grow and bear fruit, which was planted in the United Arab Emirates.
After assessing his three-day Apostolic Journey to the country (February 3-5), the Holy Father turned to the Arabic-speaking pilgrims, “in particular those from the Middle East.”
“The seed of human fraternity was sowed in the good earth of the United Arab Emirates,” he said. “Let us ask God to make it grow, fructify and become a tree that embraces the whole world,” he continued.
“May the Lord bless all the persons that made this Apostolic Visit possible,” he added, before being translated into Arabic by an interpreter.
