RIMINI – On Saturday April 6, 2019, and on the occasion of the 42nd National Convocation of the renewal in the Holy Spirit (RnS) in Rimini, Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, presided over the Eucharistic con-celebration.
“Pray for Gaza!”, this was the heartfelt appeal that Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa sent at the end of the Mass celebrated in Rimini on the occasion of the 42nd National Convocation of the renewal in the Holy Spirit. “Pray for Gaza where there is a lack of the basics of life, where you live in a scorching heat, without electricity and without water which is also controlled. Unemployment is over 65%. There are few hospitals and children who suffer. With the Sisters of Mother Teresa, we have seen dozens of children in serious conditions only because there are not enough antibiotics. In Gaza you live without practical prospects, with only a few tens of dollars a month. What can we do? I do not know, but certainly we can pray for them and for the few Christians there, who are less than 800, and who are even more in difficulty even because of their faith. All are faithful and attached to the Church and to Jesus. Pray for them,” he said.
Archbishop Pizzaballa urged the 15,000 present to come on pilgrimage to the Holy Land. “We have many tourists and fewer pilgrims. You are pilgrims because you come to meet Jesus and live an experience in the Holy Land. Next year in Jerusalem and I hope even sooner!”
