Deputizing for His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan, chairperson of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies’ Board of Trustees, Minister of Social Development Basma Ishaqat patronized the Caritas Jordan March 2019 titled, “Share the journey 2019” on Saturday, October 26, 2019 which is an initiative launched by Caritas Internationalis designed to experience fraternal love and encounter among people.
After playing the National Anthem at the German-Jordanian University, Caritas Jordan Director Wael Suleiman welcomed the representative of His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan. He said, “This initiative is part of Caritas health awareness campaign conducted over the years, with the participation of people with chronic diseases whose recovery needs walking. This is also intended to disseminate the benefit of sports for all, in addition to have people of different religions and nationalities share one path together that represents the path of humanity towards universal brotherhood.
For her part, President of the German Jordanian University (GJU) Professor Manar Fayyad, expressed pleasure for hosting this initiative. She said that the partnership between academic and charitable institutions is part of an integrated human development that provides a decent service to humans and humanity.
Minister of Social Development Basma Ishaqat conveyed the wishes of His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan, and launched the march saying, “With God’s blessing, we announce the start of the 2019 march, wishing the best to our country, Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ben Al-Hussein, and the best to all our Arab countries and to the entire world.
The participants in the march included Charge d’Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature in Amman Monsignor Mauro Lalli, Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization Ayman Mufleh, Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader, Roman Catholic parish priest in Madaba Fr. Mu’in Hilou, a number of Caritas Jordan employees, members of staff of the German-Jordanian University, in addition to Syrian and Iraqi forcibly displaced refugees.
The march included a presentation of healthy meals and blood tests from MedLab for diabetics. This year’s march was organized by Caritas Jordan and the Kingdom of Denmark in the presence of representatives from Denmark.
