His Majesty King Abdullah II arrived at the Baptism Site on Monday, January 13, and met with heads of Churches in Jordan and Jerusalem, as well as Christian personalities, marking Christian feasts according to the Eastern calendar.
During the meeting, which was attended by His Highness Prince Ghazi Ben Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy, the King extended well wishes to the Christian brethren marking Christian feasts.
During the meeting, Greek Orthodox Archimandrite Christoforos Atallah said that Jordan enjoys security and stability, while presenting a model of unity and common living which is attributed to the wisdom of His Majesty the King. He also underlined the importance of the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.
