President of the American University of Madaba (AUM) Professor Nabil Ayoub addressed the AUM studentson Sunday, March 15, notifying them that the AUM has taken the necessary actions to continue the educational process by moving class instruction and materials onto the online-learning ‘Moodle’ platform which is designed to curtail outbreaks of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Following is the text of his address:

Dear students,

We are all experiencing difficult circumstances due the ongoing efforts to contain the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The latest measures introduced by the government of Jordan, including suspending in-class instruction at universities, aim at protecting our homeland and its citizens. Accordingly, we all are required to be responsible and adopt these protective measures.
My advice to you, dear students, is to fully comply with the measures introduced by the government, along with good, common sense practices, namely stay home, follow your classes, do your homework, and, above all, take the crucial steps to keep yourself healthy.

For its part, the AUM has taken the necessary actions to continue the educational process by moving class instruction and materials onto the online-learning ‘Moodle’ platform.

Moreover, your instructors will be able to conduct lectures through the video conference application ‘Hangouts Meet’, which is now integrated into AUM’s Moodle website. http://moodle.aum.edu.jo/.

So, starting Monday, March 16, online courses will be given at the same times as your regular course schedule.

You will attend your online class by logging into Moodle using your AUM username and password. You can find your course by browsing the list of classes and login with your enrollment key. A link in the course will connect you to the streaming online video session conducted by your instructor, who will be able to interact with their students, post materials and take attendance.
