The Latin Vicariate has issued the program of the Holy Week 2020.
In this regard, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop William Shomali said, “The outbreak of Corona epidemic worldwide and in the regions where our dioceses are located entailed imposing restrictions that prevented participation in divine rituals. These new events have never seen experienced in the past, which require new forms of celebrations. He pointed out that the Latin Vicariate in Jordan will hold religious celebrations that will be broadcast live on some TV channels and Latin Vicariate-affiliated websites.
In his pastoral letter, he stressed the importance of having the faithful participate extensively in these ceremonies which will be live streamed from St. Mary of Nazareth Church in Sweifieh. He asked them to transform their homes into churches, by “bringing a table, with a sheet, two lit candles, burning some incense, and placing a Cross on the table. He also wished everyone to a Holy Week and a happy Easter.
