The American University of Madaba (AUM) and the Latin Patriarchate Schools in Jordan signed a cultural agreement on Thursday July 16, 2020.

Under the agreement, the AUM will present full scholarships to excelling students in four of the Latin Patriarchate schools in Jordan.

These scholarships are viewed as an addition to the numerous scholarships presented by the AUM in accordance with the agreements signed earlier with dozens of private schools in Jordan. These scholarships are chaneled to Latin Patriarchate schools in Jubaiha, Fuheis, Misdar and Madaba whose directors attended the signing ceremony.

The prelude of the agreement states: “As the AUM and the Latin Patriarchate Schools in Jordan share the same owning party and have shared educational goals; furthermore, based on the fact that large numbers of students from the Latin Patriarchate schools get enrolled in the AUM, the AUM and the General Administration of Latin Patriarchate Schools seek to consolidate mutual ties as well to pay special attention to excelling students in the Latin Patriarchate schools in Jordan so as to help them obtain BA degrees at the AUM. ”

The agreement was signed by General Director of Latin Patriarchate Schools in Jordan Fr. Wissam Mansour and AUM President Dr. Nabil Ayoub.

Present at the signing ceremony were Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop William Shomali, Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media in Jordan Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader, Latin Patriarchate Financial Manager Deacon Jubran Salameh, members of the AUM Trustees Council, and AUM members of staff.

A BIRD’S EYE VIEW ON AUM

Founded in 2011, the AUM is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the rural setting of the large town of Madaba. Officially accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Jordan, the AUM is a co-educational higher education institution which offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.

The AUM offers degrees in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, biology and biotechnology, medical laboratories, nutrition and dietetics, pharmacy, computer science, accounting, business administration, banking and finance, marketing, risk management, human resources management department, architecture, design and visual communication, interior design, English language and literature, in addition to translation.

The AUM was established with the intention of making a difference in higher education at both the national and regional levels, placing quality education, multifaceted student growth and faculty excellence at the top of its priorities. The AUM is not only meant to be a qualitative addition to institutions of higher learning in this part of the world, but it is meant to serve as a world-class university in the full sense of the word. Toward this end, it capitalizes on the best and up-to-date practices in higher education.
