Statement of the patriarchs and Heads of Churches of Jerusalem concerning the recent violence in Jerusalem
We the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches of Jerusalem, are profoundly disheartened and concerned about the recent violent events in East Jerusalem. These concerning developments, whether at the Al Aqsa Mosque or in Sheikh Jarrah, violate the sanctity of the people of Jerusalem and of Jerusalem as the City of Peace. The actions undermining the safety of worshipers and the dignity of the Palestinians who are subject to eviction are unacceptable.
The special character of Jerusalem, the Holy City, with the existing Status Quo, compels all parties to preserve the already sensitive situation in the Holy City of Jerusalem. The growing tension, backed mainly by right-wing radical groups, endangers the already fragile reality in and around Jerusalem.
We call upon the International Community and all people of good will to intervene in order to put an end to these provocative actions, as well as to continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

بيان البطاركة ورؤساء الكنائس القدس بشأن أعمال العنف الأخيرة
نحن البطاركة ورؤساء كنائس القدس، نشعر بخيبة أمل وقلق عميقين إزاء أحداث العنف الأخيرة في القدس الشرقية. هذه التطورات المتعلقة سواء في المسجد الأقصى أو في الشيخ جراح تنتهك حرمة المقدسيين والقدس كمدينة للسلام. ونؤكد أن الأعمال التي تنال من سلامة المصلين وكرامة الفلسطينيين الذين يتعرضون للإخلاء من منازلهم هي أعمال غير مقبولة.
الطابع الخاص للقدس، المدينة المقدسة، في ظل الوضع الراهن، يجبر جميع الأطراف على الحفاظ على الوضع الحساس في المدينة. كما أن التوتر المتزايد، والمدعوم بشكل رئيسي من قبل الجماعات اليمينية المتطرفة، يعرض الواقع الهش في القدس وما حولها للخطر.
كما ندعو المجتمع الدولي وجميع أصحاب النوايا الحسنة للتدخل لوقف هذه الأعمال الاستفزازية ومواصلة الصلاة من أجل سلام القدس.

Patriarcas y jefes de iglesias de Jerusalén preocupados por los fieles de la mezquita de Al-Aqsa y las familias de Sheikh Jarrah
Declaración de los patriarcas y jefes de iglesias de Jerusalén sobre la reciente violencia en Jerusalén
Nosotros, los Patriarcas y Jefes de Iglesias de Jerusalén, estamos profundamente descorazonados y preocupados por los recientes acontecimientos violentos en Jerusalén Oriental. Estos acontecimientos preocupantes, ya sea en la mezquita de Al Aqsa o en Sheikh Jarrah, violan la santidad del pueblo de Jerusalén y de Jerusalén como la Ciudad de la Paz. Las acciones que socavan la seguridad de los fieles y la dignidad de los palestinos que son objeto de desalojo son inaceptables.
El carácter especial de Jerusalén, la Ciudad Santa, con el Status Quo existente, obliga a todas las partes a preservar la ya delicada situación en la Ciudad Santa de Jerusalén. La creciente tensión, respaldada principalmente por grupos radicales de derecha, pone en peligro la ya frágil realidad en Jerusalén y sus alrededores.
Hacemos un llamado a la Comunidad Internacional y a todas las personas de buena voluntad para que intervengan para poner fin a estas acciones provocadoras, así como para seguir rezando por la paz de Jerusalén.
