To our dear believers,

We are now in the Holy Week, the holiest days of the year. On these days, we shed light on the events marking our salvation, namely the events relevant to the last days of the earthly life of Lord Jesus Christ.

On these days, believers go to churches to participate in prayers and celebrations, while meditating these events that express the love of Lord Christ which led to His vicarious death to ensure our salvation.

Our salvation lies in our reconciliation with God in the first place. Let us get close to God seeking His mercy and forgiveness. Let us not forget to go to confession, the sacrament of reconciliation with God. Let us put aside all our reservations and hesitation by proceeding forward towards the throne of grace, namely the confessional, and let us humble ourselves before God by admitting that we are sinners, and that we implore His mercy and forgiveness.

Reconciliation with God leads to reconciliation with our neighbors. Let us hasten to be reconciled to one another, while sincerely forgiving those who wronged us. “So go and reconcile in the first place with your brothers, then come back and give an offering to God”. Let us purify our hearts from all hatred and grudge, from all evil and sin, so that we may obtain the blessing of Easter, the Feast of Resurrection, namely a new life and a new human who will rise with Lord Jesus.

Let our eyes in these days be fixed on the Lord and listen to His words, reflect on the events relevant to His life with sincere faith and reverence so as to find in Him the strength to emulate Him and follow His model. He is the One who became like us in everything except sin. He is the One who bore our sufferings through His vicarious death. He is the One Who, with His Holy Cross, saved the world.

The celebrations these days are rich and distinctive. The Biblical readings explain to us the meaning of these events. Let us follow the celebrations, and let us go to church to participate in hymn singing and supplication. Let us these days be participants rather than spectators. Furthermore, let us seek strength from God so as to carry our crosses, seek consolation to the bereaved, and seek forgiveness to all who repent. Let us seek to die with Him through the elimination of sin and evil, so that we may rise to a new and pure life, in the example of Christ.

We implore the attainment of safety and prosperity for our country, wisdom for the leader, His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein and Crown Prince Al-Hussein Ibn Abdullah II, so that they would lead our country to goodness and progress, while wishing you blessings and goodness on these blessed holidays. Let the One Who died and rose from the dead grant us a new life.
