On the occasion of World Youth Day 2023, which will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, in August, the youth pastoral office of Galilee held its first meeting to prepare its youth to the upcoming event.
The meeting was led by Fr. Ramez Twal, spiritual guide for the Galilee youth, Ms. Latifa Mashaal, secretary general, as well as other members of the office. It included a brief overview about the mission, goals and future activities of the event, and introduced new members of the office.
The meeting also included group prayers, followed by a time of Adoration, as well as “ice-breaking” activities aimed at breaking down barriers between the participants, to enable them to get to know each other better. Some of the members also shared their unique experiences during previous World Youth Days they participated in.
The history of World Youth Day was also presented, as well as the importance of this Church event, which aims to provide all participants with a universal Church experience, fostering a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.
