In cooperation with the University of the Bundeswehr Munich in Germany, a total of 22 higher education students from the German Military College are undertaking a 10-dayresearch trip to Jordan in order to be familiarized withits historical, political, and legal aspects in reality rather than from books and articles.
On the second day of visit, they were accompanied by Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader on an exploration and pilgrimage trip to the Baptism Site, the place where Lord Jesus Christ was baptized. On the way, they listened to reviews about modern Jordan, in addition to historical, archaeological and touristic briefing presented by Fr. Bader, the guide, Osama Atoum, and Director General of the Baptism Site Mr. Rustom Mkhjian, who presented the students with a gift from the site, namely water, oil, incense, and rosaries in the presence of his assistant, Dr. Abdulaziz Odwan.
Then, they visited the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo, as well as Madaba and the map of Palestine located at St. George’s Church. Later, they attended a Holy Mass celebrated at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Tla’ Al ‘Ali which was followed by a meeting with Christian and Muslim youths. The meeting, which was moderated by Fr. Bader, touched on the distinguished Jordanian experience relevant to the prevailing common living and harmony among the population which reflects the perspicacity of the Hashemite leadership and the nature of the Jordanian people.
The students are scheduled to meet with the German ambassador, visit the German Jordanian University, as well as important archaeological sites in Jordan.
