JORDAN – From July 23rd to July 29th, 2023, the Ecclesiastic Court of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem will be holding its 10th Annual Canonical Conference, at the Movenpick Dead Sea Resort, Jordan.

6 Bishops, 70 Christian lawyers, and 30 priests from both the Latin Patriarchate, and other local Churches will be participating in this year’s conference.

During the conference, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, will be presiding over a Mass in memory of the Late Professor Arroba Conde, who passed away last month in Spain after a short fight with Cancer. The Ecclesiastic Court expressed saying: “the Late Pro. Arroba Conde played an important role in all our Conferences and was a hero in the eyes of many of our lawyers, as he was the main lecturer in all our conferences since 2015. He also taught Processual law to all our judges. His death was a shocking news for all of us, and a huge loss that can’t be compensated!”

The Ecclesiastic Court sends its heartfelt gratitude to the donors who made this conference possible: The Knights of the Holy Sepulcher through the support of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, The Custody of the Holy Land, the Holy Rosary Congregation, Caritas Jordan, Bank of Palestine, Mr. Charly Saleh, the High Commission of the Church’s Affairs of Palestine (Dr. Ramzi Khoury), Mr. Elias Ma’louf and the Bateh Family.

It is worth noting that the conference will host 10 judges from the Catholic Coptic Church in Egypt. A lecture will be given by Bishop Hanna Alwan from Lebanon, as well as Bishop Hani Bakhoom, Vicar of the Catholic Coptic Church. Also, Dr. Caesar Hakim, who is a Clinical psychiatry from Haifa – Expert of the Ecclesiastic Court in Jerusalem, will also be giving a lecture to the participants.
