From February 2nd, till June 16th, 2023, at the Notre Dame Hall, in Jerusalem, the Emmaus center of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem has offered a special spiritual course for the faithful, in cooperation with the Latin Parish of Jerusalem.
These courses offered by the Emmaus Center aim to strengthen our parishioners’ spiritual knowledge and help better equip them in the faith.
Fr. Amjad Sabara, the parish priest of Jerusalem’s parish, contributed greatly to the participation of many faithful in this course that lasted for a whole semester and recorded 45 participants.
This course focused on the topic of “Revelation, and faith”, and was given by Mgr William Shomali, General Vicar. It was divided into 9 chapters, as follows: A full chapter on the topic of Revelation and eight chapters on the Bible, in which he presented different ways to read the Bible and the importance of the Lectio Divina scriptural reading. The course was marked by hands-on experience and real-life application.
On Saturday, September 9th, 2023, Mgr William Shomali concluded the courses by presiding over a Mass, in the presence of Fr. Amjad at the Pro-Cathedral in Jerusalem, during which, His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, handed the participants their certificates of completion of the course.
