In response to the horrific loss of life at our Ahli Hospital, Archbishop Justin Welby is presently making a solidarity visit to Jerusalem, standing in support of our Christian ministries here.
Following the bombing attack against St. Porphyrios Greek Orthodox Church on the first night of the Archbishop’s stay, he paid a condolence call to Patriarch Theophilos III this morning during a previously scheduled visit. Together we prayed for all the victims of the Gaza War in the Chapel of Calvary in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Archbishop Justin will remain with us at St. George’s Cathedral until Sunday afternoon. We look forward to continuing to pray with him and take counsel for how to stop the horrendous human suffering that is happening both in Gaza and throughout the Holy Land.
